Longhorn Cattle Society AGM weekend
14/10/2025
The Society's AGM weekend was in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire at the weekend. On Saturday we were hosted by Bertie Facon with his Gentons herds of Longhorns and Salers and then Alex McLaren and his Anyho herd of Aberdeen Angus on Sunday. Awards were also presented after the formal AGM.
We were treated to Longhorn beef for lunch on Saturday which didn't disappoint!
It was a fabulous weekend, mixing seeing great cattle from all three breeds with lots of chat and gossip
. At the AGM, discussions around topics of importance to the breed were frank and honest and differing opinions were listened to with respect.
The Longhorn Cattle Society is a small organisation that relies on it's members and volunteers and it can only thrive and survive when everyone remembers why they are all drawn together at events such as the AGM. The future of the breed and the Society is everyone's overriding passion and long may that continue!
The Society's thanks go to our amazing hosts on both days, everyone who came along and the Holt Hotel who looked after us with exceptional food and service at our dinner.
