Longhorn Cattle Society has success in Ireland

27/09/2013

The Society had an excellent three days at the Irish National Ploughing Championships at Ratheniska, Co Laois, Ireland. It's estimated that around 228,000 people attended the event and we certainly saw a lot of them on the Longhorn stand.  As with our visit in 2007 the mission was to raise the profile of Longhorns in Ireland and we certainly spoke to many people who had not heard of them and there was a lot of genuine interest in the breed.

It has been confirmed that the event will be held at the same location next year so plans are already underway to pay a return visit, hopefully combining a trade stand with a Society organised visit for members.
