Longhorn cattle at English Winter Fair

Many congratulations to the Saxby family from Buxton for their first and second prizes in the native classes with their Longhorns at English Winter Fair, Staffordshire this weekend. They showed two 19 month old steers, Wellhead Quince who weighed 590kg and made £2.82 per kg and homebred Litton Quip who weighed 620kg and made £2.72 per kg.  They both graded R4L with a killing out percentage of 60%

Both animals were bought by Ben Stanley for Tori and Ben's Butchery, Kings Newton, Derbyshire. The beef is now maturing, ready for Christmas!
