Visit to Buitelaar finisher

The Midland Breeders' Group organised a really interesting visit to the Riley family's farm in Shropshire on 3 November to see how their Longhorn sired dairy calves are performing. Very well as it happens! Ed Riley and his father very kindly took the time to show us round the farm and we saw calves from around 6 weeks old up to finished cattle at 21 months old, all contract reared for the Buitelaar Group Heritage Beef scheme. The cattle are doing a great job, mostly off grass, and are performing better than Aberdeen Angus sired calves.
Buitelaar 28 day dry aged Longhorn sirloin recently won two industry awards so it's ticking all the boxes!
