Peter has managed to acquire a totally ruptured Achilles tendon whilst feeding "Mag Rolls" to the cows! Accordingly we are trying to simplify things for the winter by reducing herd numbers to a more easily managed level!
The herd numbers 35 cows and heifers nearly all spring calving but there are three left to calve [Nellwyn, Paloma, Top of the Pops] Later calving cows can be retained at Fishwick until pd'd in calf.
All calves at foot are by Fishwick Oligarch (except one on first calver Wellwyn) and all cows have run with Fishwick Oligarch and will be pd'd in calf.
Oligarch was sold for 3800gns at the first Fishwick on-farm bull sale in 2015. He went to the Sutherlands in the North of Scotland and returned home as an active good-looking ten year old in 2024.
We are fortunate to have a huge preponderance of heifer calves over the past two years - 40 altogether with 2024 calves by Leighton Tango (Sire: Fishwick Highwayman) and Fishwick Rocky Mountain High (Sire: Raincliffe Harry). We have an amazing 2025 crop by Fishwick Oligarch which means that we have loads of potential top quality replacements.
The whole herd is available with a minimum purchase of two units
A unit is three lives: viz.: Cow with calf at foot and incalf again
Dam and daughter cannot be taken - apart from calves obviously!

Several Longhorn cattle including In calf cows and heifers as well as maiden heifers. All cattle quiet and halter trained.
Herd vaccinated annually for BVD and Bluetongue. 4 year TB area.
Blood tests taken by vet last year confirmed whole herd negative for every major disease.
