The Royal Smithfield Club has agreed that the Duke of Norfolk Competition will be hosted by the English Winter Fair this year. This prestigious award has not been held for a number of years and breed societies are invited to put forward a purebred Team of Three to represent their breed. The team can come from either the English Winter Fair pedigree classes or the National Pedigree Calf Show.
This year the English Winter Fair is on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November, with the Duke of Norfolk Award being competed for at around 12noon on Sunday.
The National Pedigree Calf Show has been reduced to one day so exhibitors can arrive either on Friday 15 or early on Saturday 16, and will be able to leave around 4pm on Saturday.
The Society had a strong turnout of Longhorns at the English Winter Fair last year and would like to consolidate that presence by having more cattle forward this year as well as having a presence with a small stand 'manned' by the Secretary and Council members. Please consider entering your prime cattle and your calves for this excellent event. Entry forms will be available soon and more information can be found on the English Winter Fair website.
