Melton Mowbray Traditional & Native Breeds Show & Sale - Results

08 September 2007
The Melton Mowbray Show and Sale took place on Saturday 8th September 2007. Following hard on the heels of the recent FMD movement restrictions unfortuneately made for uncertainty over whether the event would take place which had a marked effect on the attendance levels; the price of grain along with the lack of quality dry fodder no doubt also knocked buyers’ confidence as winter feed costs look set to increase. As a consequence many lots went back home having not reached their reserves, but those lots that did sell went well, and a number of animals went to buyers who are setting up new herds. Top price of the day of 3000gns went to senior bull Blackbrook Newt, consigned by Sarah Coleman and bought by Angela Blockley for the Southfield herd.
