Northern Longhorn Breeders Club Summer Herd Visit

18 August 2007 Well Head, Mealsgate, Wigton, Cumbria CA7 1DJ.
The Northern Group's Summer Visit is by kind invitation of Nicky and Paul Luckett and will incorporate a 21st Party for the Wellhead Herd as well as a judging competition.
 
Most of the females are sold through the pedigree sales, although some are sold privately. Males unsuitable for breeding are mostly sold as stores, although a few are finished for friends and family consumption. Besides the Longhorns there are Hebridean sheep on the farm.
 
10:00am start, with the judging to commence around 10:30am. Peter Close will act as Master Judge.
 
Lunch will be provided at £10.00 per head but must be prebooked as soon as possible please to assist with the catering arrangements.
 
All Society members and friends will be made most welcome. Details of places to stay for those wishing to arrive the night before as well as suggestions of local attractions will be available shortly. Anyone wishing to bring their own caravan should contact Nicky Luckett who may be able to find suitable parking space.

Due to the outbreak of Foot & Mouth disease, confirmed near Guildford on 3rd August, this event has had to be postponed. As soon as a new date is arranged it will be announced here.
