Beef Production Workshop

The Longhorn Society's Beef Production Workshop was held at the Tetford Herd on 17 August

Around 30 members and friends gathered at Charles and Debbie Sutcliffe's Tetford herd on 17 August for the Society's Beef Production Workshop.  The morning started with a 'guess the weight of the heifer' competition and continued with a general discussion on beef production systems both from a butcher's perspective and a producer's preferred system for their individual situation.  After a lunch of Longhorn beef Jim Sutcliffe treated everyone to a butchery demonstration using both the forequarter and hindquarter of a Longhorn.  After being well fed and watered a few members stayed on to have a look at the Tetford breeding herd.
