Northern Longhorn Breeders' Herd Competition

Entries are now open for this year's Herd Competition for members in the Northern Group.
There are 9 individual classes: Senior bull, Junior bull, Senior cow, Junior cow, Senior heifer, Junior heifer, Best calf, Best steer, Best crossbred, then Best Large herd and Best Small Herd.  Entry fee is calculated so that we cover the judges expenses, so isn't calculated until judging is complete, but is normally around £25 - not bad for up to 10 classes!

Peter Close has kindly agreed to judge this year. He plans to make a start towards the end of September and carry on into early October. He has also volunteered to host the AGM and prize-giving in December (date to be confirmed) which will also be a chance for us to turn the tables and judge his cattle!

Last year's judge covered almost 1800 miles - Peter is likely to have at least as far to go, so please say if you'd be able to put him up overnight.
