If you're already a follower of the Toplines and Tales podcast then you'll know that the latest interview is with Longhorn panel judge and cattle historian Clive Davies. The topic of conversation is Robert Bakewell who was the founding father of the pedigree Longhorn breed through genetic selection and controlled breeding programmes.
The discussion is wide-ranging which is understandable given Robert Bakewell's impressive career improving a breeds across a number of livestock species (and cabbages apparently!) and the focus on the Longhorns starts at around 30 minutes in.
