Shappen Stores

Shappen Stores sits in the small village of Burley, right in the heart of the New Forest National Park. Trading on the same site since 1908, the butchery provides high quality meat to local residents and visitors alike, as well as a wide selection of hand-picked drink and deli products.

Our in-house butcher Nick has worked in and around the New Forest for 28 years:  his local knowledge is second to none, and he only uses suppliers that he knows and trusts as custodians of the forest and its traditional practices. With regular visits to our friends at Folds Farm (Godshill) and Manor Farm (Cadnam), we really mean it when we say that we know where our meat comes from. 

We are proud to have been awarded the New Forest Marque – a distinctive sign of quality which is only given to products and produce that have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, produced or processed within the New Forest. Look out for their logo on many of our in-store products as well, as we love to stock local suppliers, from honey to gin to shortbread biscuits!
